From artificial intelligence and digital communication to aggressive tax planning and client disengagement, attendees will explore modern scenarios that test professional judgment and client care. Participants will analyze the gray areas of tax ethics, gain clarity on responsibilities under Circular 230 and walk away with practical tools to uphold ethical standards while managing a successful practice.

Objectives

Upon completion of this session, you will be able to:

● Communicate digitally with clients following best practices for secure and professional messaging, including

ethical pitfalls of informal platforms

● Navigate the ethical risks and disclosure responsibilities when outsourcing tax work

● Follow your obligations under Circular 230, especially as the advisory and representation roles of tax

professionals continue to expand

● Distinguish ethical boundaries when advising on aggressive tax positions, planning strategies and potential

tax avoidance schemes

● Draft and manage clear, ethical engagement letters that set realistic expectations and protect both preparer

and client
